Since beginning his professional practice in June 1992, he has examined more than 9,000 palms and has established himself as one of India's leading research-oriented palmists.

Widely known as World Famous Palmist Dr. Kamal Dani, he combines academic excellence with decades of practical experience. He later served as Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Indian Institute of Management Studies (IIMS), Uluberia (2008–2009) and as a Full-Time Faculty in Marketing at the International School of Business (ISB), Salt Lake, Kolkata, in 2009.

He is also recognised as the first Gujarati from the entire Eastern India to attend 146 national and international seminars and conferences on Astrology between 1995 and 2026. Internationally, Dr. Dani achieved a unique distinction when the American Biographical Institute (ABI), North Carolina, USA published his biography in the prestigious reference volume 500 Leaders of Influence (Tenth Edition, 2003). Among the 500 distinguished personalities featured worldwide, only 32 Indians were included. Dr. Dani became the only exclusive palmist in the world to be featured in this publication, a distinction recognised as a World Record. His biography also appeared in 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century published by the International Biographical Centre (IBC), Cambridge, England in 2010.

Early life and family

Dr. Kamal Dani was born on 14 May 1956 at Kapadvanj, in the Kheda district of Gujarat, India. He is the second of four sons born to Late Shri Jitendra C. Dani and Smt. Jasumati Dani. His brothers are Arun Dani, Himanshu Dani and Jignesh Dani.

His paternal grandfather, Shri Chandulal Chunilal Dani, migrated to Kolkata during 1916–1917, establishing the family's roots in Eastern India. His father worked as an Accountant in a private company in Kolkata, while his mother was a homemaker.

Growing up in Kolkata, Dr. Dani developed an early interest in commerce, management and traditional Indian sciences. His fascination with Palmistry began in 1972, initially as a hobby. Over the following decades, this interest evolved into serious academic research and eventually became his lifelong profession.

Education

Dr. Kamal Dani completed his Higher Secondary (Commerce) from Tantia High School, Kolkata in 1972.

He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Umes Chandra College, affiliated with the University of Calcutta, in 1975.

In 1978, he completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from the University of Calcutta. He belonged to the University's first MBA (Marketing) batch, making him one of the earliest professionally trained marketing graduates in Eastern India.

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to Palmistry, the Astrological Research Project (ARP), Kolkata conferred upon him the honorary degree of Doctor of Palmistry in February 2010.

Professional career

Dr. Kamal Dani possesses a diversified professional career spanning more than four decades across corporate management, higher education, marketing consultancy, entrepreneurship and Palmistry. His unique combination of corporate experience, academic excellence and research has enabled him to establish a distinguished reputation in both management education and the traditional sciences.

He began his corporate career in 1979 and worked in various managerial positions until 1992. During this period, he served as a Management Trainee, Sales Supervisor, Sales Officer, Sales Manager and Chief Executive in different organisations. These assignments provided him with practical experience in sales management, customer relationship management, organisational leadership, business development and strategic marketing.

From 1992 to 2010, Dr. Dani devoted himself to higher education, professional training and consultancy. He worked as a Lecturer, Faculty Member and Consultant in the areas of Marketing, Exports, International Marketing and Management. During this period, he delivered lectures, executive development programmes and consultancy assignments for management institutes, entrepreneurship development programmes and industrial organisations across India.

His consultancy assignments included programmes organised by MSME, WEBCON (West Bengal Consultancy Organisation), FIEO (Federation of Indian Export Organisations), FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), Chambers of Commerce, NGOs and Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, where he trained entrepreneurs, exporters, management students and business executives in modern marketing practices, export management and strategic business planning.

In 2006, Dr. Dani became the first Gujarati from Kolkata to be appointed as a Full-Time Assistant Professor of Marketing at BRM Institute of Management & Information Technology, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. During his tenure from 2006 to 2008, he taught Marketing Management and mentored postgraduate management students.

He subsequently joined the Indian Institute of Management Studies (IIMS), Uluberia in West Bengal as Assistant Professor of Marketing during 2008–2009. His teaching methodology combined academic concepts with practical business experiences, enabling students to understand the application of management theories in real business situations.

In 2009, he joined the International School of Business (ISB), Salt Lake, Kolkata as a Full-Time Faculty in Marketing, further strengthening his reputation as a management educator and marketing specialist.

Since 2017, Dr. Dani has also served as a Director in several small private companies based in Kolkata, providing strategic guidance in business planning, marketing, organisational development and corporate management.

His interest in Palmistry began in 1972 while he was still a student.
