Dr. Vinod Chandrashekhar Dixit
Dr. Vinod Chandrashekhar Dixit (born 1 December 1964) is an Indian journalist, author, banker, editor, cartoonist and public awareness advocate. He is recognised for his long-standing contribution to Indian journalism and literature through a career spanning more than four decades. His writings have covered subjects including banking, consumer rights, civic awareness, governance, education, national integration and social responsibility, making him one of the most prolific contributors to Indian print media.
Beginning his writing journey in 1984 with a letter published in The Indian Express, Dr. Dixit gradually established a reputation for disciplined, research-based and socially relevant journalism. Over the years, he has published more than 13,000 letters and over 8,000 articles in more than 350 newspapers and magazines in India and abroad. His work is noted for presenting complex public issues in a clear and accessible manner while encouraging responsible citizenship and constructive public dialogue.
Alongside his literary achievements, Dr. Dixit built a distinguished professional career with the Bank of India, where he served as Senior Manager. Throughout his banking career, he actively promoted customer awareness, ethical banking practices and financial literacy through articles, editorials and professional publications. Following his retirement, he continued to contribute to the banking community as Editor-in-Chief of SVARG, the magazine of the Bank of India Officers' Association.
In addition to journalism and banking, Dr. Dixit has contributed as an author, speaker, cartoonist and singer. His publications include books on customer service, banking, motivation and personal values, while his original banking cartoons have introduced an innovative approach to explaining financial systems through visual communication.
